Transmission Fluid Cooler - Air to Oil: Removal
NOTE:
Make sure that all openings are sealed with clean blanking caps.
NOTE:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Release the retainers and remove the radiator sight shield.
- Remove the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .
- Remove the retainers and remove the air cleaner inlet tube.
- Remove the bolt and remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket.
Torque
: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.NOTE: Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.
Remove the bolts and position aside the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

NOTE: Make sure that no component falls off during removal.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube band seal.
- Remove the retainers and remove the underbody shield.
- Remove the screws, the pin-type retainers and the radiator deflector.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
- On both sides. Remove the bolts and remove the front support bar.
Torque
: 1: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
2: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)
- Remove the bolt and wiring harness retainers.
Torque
: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- On both sides. Remove the bolts.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.
On both sides. Lower the front cross member. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.
Loosely install the cable ties at both sides of the A/C condenser. Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.
Remove the upper foam strip.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is correctly installed.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler.
- Separate the transmission fluid cooler and the bracket.
