Selector Lever Cable Bushing - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35: Removal

  1. Apply the parking brake, chock wheels to make sure vehicle does not roll.
  2. Position the selector lever in D.

  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
  4. Disconnect the selector lever cable from the transmission manual lever.

  5. Remove the selector lever cable retaining clip bolt.

  6. Release the selector lever clip and detach the selector lever cable from the selector lever cable bracket.

  7. NOTE: 2013 model year vehicles only. The selector lever cable bushing is taller than the replacement bushing.

    Using a 15mm shallow socket on the bottom of the selector lever cable end, press the bushing out with straight jaw adjustable pliers.

  8. NOTE: 2014-2020 model year vehicles only.

    Using a 5mm shallow socket on top of the bushing and a 15mm shallow socket on the bottom of the selector lever cable end, press the bushing out with straight jaw adjustable pliers.

  9. Visually check the selector lever cable end for any signs of damage and replace if necessary.
