Selector Lever Cable Bushing - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F35: Installation

NOTE: Do not use any grease to install the selector lever cable bushing. The selector lever cable bushing must be installed dry.
Using only your hands, install the new selector lever cable bushing.
- Attach the selector lever cable to the selector lever cable bracket.
- Install the selector lever cable retaining clip bolt.
Torque
: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Position the manual control lever in D.
- Rotate the manual control lever clockwise until it stops.
- Rotate the manual control lever counterclockwise 1 detent.
- Unlock the adjuster.
- Move the slide to the left.
- While holding the slide, position the adjuster lock upward.
- Connect the selector lever cable to the transmission manual lever.
- Snap the adjuster lock into place.
- Install the new cap onto the selector lever cable adjuster. Clip one side into the adjuster body and then slide the other onto the housing until it snaps into place. The protective cap should cover the bushing and the terminal end of the adjuster.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Verify the vehicle only starts in P and N and the reverse lamps illuminate in R.
