Pinpoint Test Z: DTC P1001
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM only runs the KOER test when the PCM confirms the vehicle is in park or neutral and there is no vehicle speed indicated.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P1001:00 KOER Not Able to Complete, KOER Aborted: No Sub Type Information May be caused by an incomplete or incorrect PCM configuration during the PMI process. Possible Sources
- Incomplete or incorrect PMI of the PCM.
- Z1 CHECK CORRECT GEAR STATE IS ACHIEVED
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, monitor the PID, Transmission Range (TR) Sensor Position - Corrected.
- Select DRIVE.
Does the achieved gear range match the customer selected gear position?
Yes GO to Z2 No GO to Pinpoint Test C - Z2 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Does DTC P1001 return?
Yes Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The fault may be intermittent.
