Pinpoint Test V: DTC P0752, P0757, P0762, P0767, P0772, P2808

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The PCM monitors clutch applications. It sets a DTC if it detects a non-electrical shift solenoid or clutch fault. The customer may experience erratic vehicle operation when this DTC sets.

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    PCM P0752:00 Shift Solenoid "A" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P0752 is a non-electrical failure indicating the A clutch stayed applied when SSA was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when clutch A is off, which only allows 1st through 5th gears.
    PCM P0757:00 Shift Solenoid "B" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P0757 is a non-electrical failure indicating the B clutch stayed applied when SSB was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when clutch B is off, which only allows reverse, 4th, and 6th gears.
    PCM P0762:00 Shift Solenoid "C" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P0762 is a non-electrical failure indicating the C clutch stayed applied when SSC was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when clutch C is off, which only allows 3rd and 7th gears.
    PCM P0767:00 Shift Solenoid "D" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P0767 is a non-electrical failure indicating the hydraulic SOWC stayed applied when SSD was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when the hydraulic SOWC is off, which only allows reverse and 1st gear.
    PCM P0772:00 Shift Solenoid "E" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P0772 is a non-electrical failure indicating the E clutch stayed applied when SSE was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when clutch E is off, which only allows 5th through 8th gears.
    PCM P2708:00 Shift Solenoid "F" Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P2708 is a non-electrical failure indicating the F clutch stayed applied when SSF was de-energized. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables all gears that operate when clutch F is off, which only allows 2nd and 8th gears.
    PCM P2758:00 Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Stuck On: No Sub Type Information DTC P2758 is a non-electrical failure indicating the TCC stayed applied when the TCC solenoid was de-energized. When this DTC sets the vehicle may experience engine stalling, lugging, poor shift quality.

    Possible Sources 

    • Shift solenoid stuck on
    • Stuck control valve
    • Contamination in the main control
    • Clutch damaged

  2. V1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.

    • Road test the vehicle.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.

    Are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0752, P0757, P0762, P0767, P0772, P2708, P2758 present in the PCM? 

    Yes  DTC P0752, A clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: A Clutch . DTC P0757, B clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: B Clutch . DTC P0762, C clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: C Clutch . DTC P0767, D clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: Hydraulic Selectable One-Way Clutch Assembly . DTC P0772, E clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: E Clutch . DTC P2708, F clutch Always Applied symptom, REFER to: F Clutch . DTC P2758, TCC Always Applied symptom, REFER to: Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) .
    No  The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
