Pinpoint Test R: DTC P073E
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM monitors clutch applications for all gears. It sets a DTC if it detects a forward gear engagement while reverse is selected.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P073E:00 Unable to Engage Reverse: No Sub Type Information The PCM detected forward gear engagement 3 times while Reverse was selected. The PCM was not able to isolate the fault to a specific clutch. The logic triggers a temporary neutral command each time the fault occurs. The DTC self clears after 40 warm up cycles have been completed without detecting the fault again. Possible Sources
- Transmission fluid contamination
- A solenoid or A clutch stuck on or damaged
- B solenoid or B clutch stuck off or slipping
- Hydraulic selectable one-way clutch (SOWC) damaged
- R1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P0736 present in the PCM?
Yes REFER to: A Clutch . REFER to: B Clutch . REFER to: Hydraulic Selectable One-Way Clutch Assembly . No The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
