DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P1636:00 Inductive Signature Chip Communication Error: No Sub Type Information The PCM uses internal drivers that control the solenoid low sides to provide commanded current. These internal drivers communicate with the PCM. If communication is lost with the solenoid drivers the DTC P1636 sets. Possible Sources
- Internal PCM component failure
- AA1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P1636 present in the PCM?
Yes Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The fault is not present at this time and may be intermittent.
