Pinpoint Test AE: DTC P1A02

The PCM monitors the one way clutch application. It sets a DTC if it falls outside of expected performance ranges.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P1A02:00 Transmission One Way Clutch Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the PCM detects the one way clutch failed to engage gears 1A or 2A 3 times allowing sun gear 1 to rotate backwards. When this DTC sets the failsafe logic disables 1st and 2nd gear. Possible Sources
- One-way clutch failure
- AE1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the DTC for the PCM.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Did DTC P1A02 return?
Yes REFER to: Hydraulic Selectable One-Way Clutch Assembly . No The fault may be intermittent.
