Pinpoint Test Purpose

his pinpoint evaluates if the steering wheel condition and installation, and if OK, then go to suspension article to perform a suspension alignment.

1. CQ1: VERIFY THE CONDITION TO BE RESOLVED IS NOT A STEERING WHEEL PLAY CONDITION 
   • Is this a steering wheel play concern? 

   Yes	No
   GO to PINPOINT TEST G .	Go to  CQ2.

2. CQ2: VERIFY THE CONDITION TO BE RESOLVED IS NOT A PULL OR DRIFT CONDITION 
   • Is this a steering pull of drift concern? 

   Yes	No
   GO to PINPOINT TEST CP .	Go to  CQ3.

3. CQ3: CHECK THE SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT 
   • Align the vehicle suspension. Refer to the Suspension System - General Information article.
   • Is the steering wheel now centered? 

   Yes	No
   The vehicle is operating correctly at this time. The condition was likely caused by a mis-aligned suspension system.	VERIFY the steering wheel connection is not bent or twisted and the steering wheel has been correctly installed. REFER to the Steering Column article. If the steering wheel is installed correctly, INSTALL a new steering wheel or steering column as necessary.
