Driver Knee Airbag: Installation

WARNING: Incorrect repair techniques or actions can cause an accidental pyrotechnic device deployment. Make sure the supplemental restraint and pedestrian protection system (if equipped) is depowered before reconnecting the component. Refer to the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering . Failure to precisely follow depowering instructions could result in serious personal injury from an accidental deployment.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Position the driver knee airbag bracket.
1. Position the driver knee airbag bracket on top of the instrument panel finish panel.
2. Position the driver knee airbag bracket hooks around the instrument panel bracket.
3. Position the driver knee airbag bracket tabs to the front of the instrument panel bracket.

NOTE: Follow the tightening sequence of the driver knee airbag nuts.
- Hand start and tighten the driver knee airbag outboard nut.
  Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Hand start and tighten the driver knee airbag inboard nut.
  Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

Repower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Repowering .
