Battery Energy Control Module B (BECMB): Removal

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.NOTE: The PMI process must begin with the current BECMB installed. If the current BECMB does not respond to the diagnostic scan tool, the tool may prompt for As-Built Data as part of the repair.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the BECMB following the on-screen instructions.
- Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display
- Release the retaining clips and remove the cover. Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.
- Remove the bolts.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
Vehicles Without: Touchscreen Display
- Release the clips and remove the instrument panel center upper trim panel. Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.
All vehicles

NOTE: Do not pull on the wire harness to disconnect/connect the connector or damage to the connector/wire harness will occur.
Release the Passenger Airbag Deactivation Indicator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the Passenger Airbag Deactivation Indicator.

- Remove the bolts.
Vehicles With: Touchscreen Display

- Release the clips and the audio bezel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the audio bezel.
Vehicles Without: Touchscreen Display

- Release the clips and the audio bezel.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the audio bezel.
All vehicles
- Disengage the 4 retaining tabs and lift the selector lever bezel up and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolts.

- Release the clips. Use Special Service Tool: 501-125 Remover, Grab Handle Cover.
- Remove the clip and the floor console upper trim panel.
- If equipped, disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the bolts.

- Remove the bolts and the climate control assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
-
- Remove the bolts and release the BECMB.
- Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the BECMB.
