Thermostatic Expansion Valve Manifold and Tube Assembly - 2.0L Duratec-HE (110kW/150PS) - MI4: Removal
NOTE:
Make sure that the ignition key is removed.
NOTE:
During the removal or installation of components, cap, tape or otherwise appropriately protect all openings and tubes/fittings to prevent the ingress of dirt or other contamination. Remove caps, tape and other protective materials prior to installation.

- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- Remove the right headlamp assembly. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
- Remove the cowl panel. Refer to: Cowl Panel .
- Position aside the degas bottle.
Vehicles With: Rear Climate Control
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly bracket nut.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Remove the rear evaporator inlet, outlet line nuts and disconnect the fittings.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
All vehicles

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly bracket bolt.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Remove the thermostatic expansion valve manifold and tube assembly nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
