Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Release the retainers and remove the radiator sight shield.
- Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
- Remove the retainers and remove the air cleaner inlet tube.
- Remove the retainers and remove the air cleaner inlet tube.
- Remove the bolt and remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Disconnect the cooling fan motor electrical connector and detach the wiring retainer.
- Remove the bolts and the engine underbody shield.
- Remove the bolts, screws and retainers and the radiator undershield.
- Remove the clips and pin type retainer and the radiator upper air deflector.
- Remove the bolt and the radiator RH side air deflector.
- Remove the bolt and the radiator LH side air deflector.
- On both sides. Remove the bolts and remove the front side member.
Torque: 1: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm) 2: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- If equipped. Remove the bolt and the wiring harness retainers.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- On both sides. Remove the bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.
Remove the front cross member.

NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.
Remove the lower foam strip.
- Detach the retainers and position aside the hoses.

NOTE: Make sure that no strain is placed on the refrigerant lines.
Using a transmission jack, lower the radiator assembly.
Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

NOTE: Make sure that a new component is installed.
Remove the upper foam strip.

NOTE: Make sure that the component is correctly installed.
Detach the transmission fluid cooler.
- Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
