Transmission Fluid Cooler: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray - 2.5L Duratec (125kW/170PS) .
  2. NOTE: Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.

    Release the clamps and detach the coolant hoses.

    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  3. NOTE: Use suitable paper to absorb any escaping fluid.

    1. Remove the bolt, tube nut and the transmission fluid cooler oil outlet tube.
    2. Remove the bolt, tube nut and the transmission fluid cooler oil inlet tube.

  4. NOTE: Make sure that no component falls off during removal.

    Remove the band seals and backing rings from the transmission fluid cooler.

  5. Remove the nut and position aside the coolant hose and the bracket.

  6. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

    Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid cooler.
