Fuel Tank - Vehicles With: Midship Fuel Tank: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
  2. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to: Fuel Tank Draining .
  3. NOTE: Typical configuration shown in illustration, others similar

    Loosen the hose clamps and disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe and vent hose from the fuel filler neck.

    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    Disconnect the water-in-fuel sensor electrical connector.

    Disconnect the 2 fuel line quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

    Using a transmission jack, support the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts and remove the fuel tank straps. Partially lower the fuel tank for access.

    Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  7. NOTE: Typical configuration shown in illustration, others similar

    Disconnect the fuel pump and sender unit electrical connector. Remove the fuel tank.
