Throttle Body: Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
- Install the new TB (throttle body) gasket.
- Install the TB (throttle body), then install and tighten the TB (throttle body) retaining bolts in the following stages and in the sequence shown in illustration.
Torque
Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
Stage 2: Tighten an additional : 45°
- Connect the TB (throttle body) electrical connector.

- Connect the CAC (charge air cooler) outlet tube to the TB (throttle body).
- Connect the electrical connector and then attach the wire harness retainer.
- Perform the PCM adaptive value reset for the TB (throttle body).
- Turn the ignition key ON without cranking the engine.
- Turn the ignition key OFF.
- Wait 30 seconds for the PCM to reset the adaptive values for the TB (throttle body).
- Start the engine.

NOTE: This step is required only when a new throttle body is being installed.
After the new throttle body is installed, using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the following:
- Reset/clear the specified function for the EGR throttle.
Use the General Equipment: Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS)
- Clear the continuous PCM DTCs and reset the emissions monitors information in the PCM. Refer to Engine Controls - Powertrain DTC Charts & Descriptions (Diesel)

- Reset/clear the specified function for the EGR throttle.
