Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Removal

NOTE: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Vehicles with 6.7L power stroke diesel. Remove the CAC outlet pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Outlet Pipe .
1. Clean the area around the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
2. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir cap.

Using a suction gun remove the power steering fluid.

NOTE: All vehicles except vehicles equipped with Hydro-Boost ® Brakes.

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.

NOTE: Note the position of the components before removal.
1. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid pump hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid cooler hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.

1. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid pump hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.
2. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid cooler hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.
3. Release the clamp and disconnect the power steering fluid Hydro-Boost ® hose from the power steering fluid reservoir.

Remove the bolt and the power steering fluid reservoir.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
