Sector Shaft Arm Drag Link - F-450 F-550: Removal

Remove the wheel and tires. Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Single Rear Wheels . Refer to: Wheel and Tire - Vehicles With: Dual Rear Wheels .
NOTE: Use the hex-holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.

Remove the steering linkage damper-to-sector shaft arm drag link nut.

Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)

Separate the steering linkage damper from the sector shaft arm drag link.
Use Special Service Tool: 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Remover, Steering Arm.

1. Remove and discard the sector shaft arm drag link cotter pin.
2. Remove the sector shaft arm drag link nut retainer.

Remove the sector shaft arm drag link nut.
Torque: 129 lb.ft (175 Nm)

Separate the sector shaft arm drag link from the sector shaft arm.
Use Special Service Tool: 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Remover, Steering Arm.

1. Remove and discard the sector shaft arm drag link cotter pin.
2. Remove the sector shaft arm drag link nut retainer.

Remove the sector shaft arm drag link and tie rod nut.
Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

Separate the sector shaft arm drag link from the wheel knuckle and tie rod. Support the tie rod.
Use Special Service Tool: 211-023 (T74P-3044-A1) C-Frame and Screw.
