Sector Shaft Arm Drag Link - F-250 F-350: Removal

  1. Position the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
    1. Remove and discard the tie rod cotter pins.
    2. Remove the tie rod nut retainers.

  2. Remove the tie rod nuts.

    Torque: 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  3. On both sides. Separate the tie rod from the sector shaft arm drag link.

    Use Special Service Tool: 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Remover, Steering Arm.

    1. Remove and discard the sector shaft arm drag link cotter pin.
    2. Remove and discard the sector shaft arm drag link nut retainer.

  4. Remove and discard the sector shaft arm drag link nut.

    Torque: 129 lb.ft (175 Nm)

  5. Separate the sector shaft arm drag link from the sector shaft arm.

    Use Special Service Tool: 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Remover, Steering Arm.

  6. Separate the sector shaft arm drag link from the idler arm and remove the sector shaft arm drag link.

    Use Special Service Tool: 211-003 (T64P-3590-F) Remover, Steering Arm.
