DTC DESCRIPTION P0601 - INTERNAL CONTROL MODULE MEMORY CHECKSUM ERROR

Description:	This DTC sets when the PCM central processor unit (CPU) internal checks return an incorrect value.
Possible Causes:	An attempt was made to change the calibration Aftermarket performance products Incorrect PCM calibration Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids:	Reprogram or update the calibration. Reprogram the vehicle identification VID block. Check for other DTCs or drive symptoms for further action. Make sure to check for aftermarket performance products before installing a new PCM. If it is necessary to install a new PCM, refer to FLASH ELECTRICALLY ERASABLE PROGRAMMABLE READ ONLY MEMORY (EEPROM) . Programming the VID Block for a Replacement PCM.
