Normal Operation And Fault Conditions

The SASM is self-monitoring and capable of setting Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) to alert of potential internal errors. When a new SASM is installed, several routines must be carried out using a diagnostic scan tool. These routines allow for correct operation of the ABS and stability control systems as well as other steering related features. The SASM and the ABS module share operational information, when amodule is unable to operate correctly due to missing installation routines, the other module is notified and sets the appropriate DTC. 

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

DTC  Description  Fault Trigger Condition 
C1B00:95 Steering Angle Sensor: Incorrect Assembly This DTC sets if the steering wheel angle data is out of range. This is most likely due to an incorrectly installed SASM - clockspring assembly.
