Normal Operation And Fault Conditions

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2021 Lincoln Corsair, 2021 Ford Transit-350 HD, 2021 Ford Transit-350, 2021 Ford Transit-250, and 2021 Ford Transit-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Active wheel speed sensors generate a square wave signal proportional to wheel speed which is sent to the ABS module. Each wheel speed sensor is connected to the ABS module through 2 wires and a connector at each wheel speed sensor. The 2 circuits provide both sensor power and sensor signal return. When the ignition mode is set to ON, the ABS module carries out a self-test by sending a reference voltage through the wheel speed sensors and their circuitry.

PPT N ABS MODULE DTC FAULT TRIGGER CONDITIONS

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
C0037:01 Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: General Electrical Failure Sets when the wheel speed signal continuously exceeds a specified threshold or is operating outside of the allowable range.
C003A:01 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: General Electrical Failure Sets when the wheel speed signal continuously exceeds a specified threshold or is operating outside of the allowable range.
C1A95:01 Wheel Speed Sensor: General Circuit/Electrical Failure Sets when the ABS module detects an opencircuit, short to voltage, short to ground, on one or morewheel speed sensor circuits, or faults with multiple wheelspeed sensors.
