Visual Inspection And Diagnostic Pre-Checks

Make sure the vehicle battery terminals and cables are free of any corrosion and other contaminants.
Make sure the vehicle battery terminals are tightened to their correct torque specifications.
Make sure all EBB and ABS module fuses in the BJB are OK.

L1: CHECK FOR ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) MODULE DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE)

Ignition ON.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the DTC s from the ABS module.
NOTE: DTC s may be displayed from previous diagnostic actions.
RECORD all retrieved ABS module DTC s.

Is DTC C0049:01 present in the ABS module?

Yes	No
Refer to INSTRUMENTATION, MESSAGE CENTER AND WARNING CHIMES .	For DTC C0049:7B, CHECK the brake fluid level is FILL as is necessary. For all other ABS module DTC , GO to the appropriate DTC chart in this article.
