Passenger Knee Airbag: Removal

The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.

- Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
- Remove the pin-type retainers and lower the RH insulation panel.
- Disconnect the interior lamp electrical connector and remove the RH insulation panel.
- Remove the passenger knee airbag bolts.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Pull out to release the tabs and position the passenger knee airbag out from the instrument panel.
- Remove the passenger knee airbag.
- Raise the locking tabs of the passenger knee airbag electrical connector.
- Disconnect the passenger knee airbag electrical connector.
