Tailgate Moulding: Removal

Vehicles without Flexible Step 

1. Remove the screws from the tailgate liner.

   Torque

   : 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

2. Remove the tailgate liner.

3. Remove the screws from the inner panel.

   Torque

   : 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

5. Remove the push pin retainers.

6. Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers from the tailgate, remove and trash the moulding.

   : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

8. Remove the tailgate liner.

9. Remove the push pin retainers.

10. Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the retainers from the tailgate, remove and trash the moulding.

11. Remove the nuts.

    Torque

    : 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

12. NOTE: Platinum tailgate applique shown in illustration, all others similar.
    NOTE: Use care when disengaging push pins from tailgate to avoid damage to the applique.

    Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the push pin retainers from the tailgate and remove the applique.
