Front Seatbelt Retractor and Pretensioner - SuperCab: Removal

WARNING: The following procedure prescribes critical repair steps required for correct restraint system operation during a crash. Follow all notes and steps carefully. Failure to follow step instructions may result in incorrect operation of the restraint system and increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.
NOTE: LH (left-hand) shown in illustration, RH (right-hand) similar.
  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to health and safety warnings in GENERAL INFORMATION . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions .

  2. Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
  3. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to: Rear Door Trim Panel - SuperCab .
  4. Release the retainers and position the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner guide aside.

  5. Disconnect the front seatbelt retractor pretensioner, load limiter and anchor pretensioner electrical connectors and position aside.

    1. Raise the locking tabs of the electrical connector.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  6. Remove and discard the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner outer weather seal.

    1. Position the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner webbing aside.
    2. Remove and discard the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner outer weather seal.

  7. Remove the bolt and the front seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.

    Torque

    : 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  8. Remove the front seatbelt anchor and pretensioner inner weather seal.

  9. Clean the surface area of foreign materials.
