Slip Clutch
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The slip clutch is a device which prevents an over torque condition during power operation. This slip clutch is always connected to the tailgate. The slip clutch slips when excessive load is applied to the tailgate and immediately re-engages when the excess load is removed during a power open or close operation.
