Pinpoint Test C: P0563

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - Component Location .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    SOBDMC P0563:00 System Voltage High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the internal processor voltages are greater than a calibrated range.

    Possible Sources 

    • External excessive voltage
    • 24-volt jump start
    • Inverter System Controller (ISC)

  2. C1 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is the voltage greater than 10.5 V? 

    Yes  GO to  C2
    No  REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (BM) . To diagnose the low voltage symptom. Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
  3. C2 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE

    • Measure:
      Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead

      Ground

    Is the voltage less than 16V? 

    Yes  GO to  C3
    No  REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (BM) . To diagnose the high voltage symptom. Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
  4. C3 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.

    • Allow the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to complete a normal power down sequence.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

    Was DTC P0563 read from the Inverter System Controller (ISC)? 

    Yes  DTC P0563 frequently sets after the vehicle has been jump-started. Clearing DTCs is expected to clear this DTC, if the DTC continuously returns, INSTALL a new Inverter System Controller (ISC). REFER to: Inverter System Controller [SOBDMC] .
    No  Test is complete, no faults were found.
