Valve Cover LH: Installation

Install a new LH valve cover gasket.

NOTE: If the valve cover is not secured within 4 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned with silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Allow to dry until there is no sign of wetness, or 4 minutes, whichever is longer. Failure to follow this procedure may cause future oil leakage.

Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant in 2 places where the engine front cover meets the cylinder head.

Material: Motorcraft ® Silicone Gasket and Sealant / TA-30 (WSE-M4G323-A4)

Install the LH valve cover and tighten the bolts in the sequence shown.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Position the wiring harness and attach the retainers.

Install the LH ignition coils. Refer to: Ignition Coil-On-Plug .
Position the PCV tube and connect the quick connect coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

- Position the oil level indicator tube and install the bolts.
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Install the oil level indicator.
