Pinpoint Test J: Internal Module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCS)

- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The TCM carries out periodic tests on itself. It sets a DTC if any of the results are outside of normal operating standards.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

TCM P0604:00 Internal Control Module Random Access Memory (RAM) Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a TCMRAM error. TCM P0605:00 Internal Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM) Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a TCMROM error. TCM P0607:00 Control Module Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a TCM processor fault. TCM P060A:00 Internal Control Module Monitoring Processor Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TCM processor is not operating properly. TCM P060B:00 Internal Control Module A/D Processing Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TCM processor failed an internal hardware check. TCM P060C:00 Internal Control Module Main Processor Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TCM processor failed a RAM and/or ROM check. TCM P061A:00 Internal Control Module Torque Performance: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TCM detected a torque up request above the allowed limits. TCM P064F:00 Unauthorized Software/Calibration Detected: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the TCM calibration has not been updated to the proper production level. TCM P06B8:00 Internal Control Module Non-Volatile Random Access Memory (NVRAM) Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a TCM NV RAM error. TCM P160A:00 Control Module Vehicle Options Reconfiguration Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a module error due to incomplete or incorrect PMI procedures. TCM P1674:00 Control Module Software Corrupted: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a TCM processor flow error. One of the key tasks has stopped running. TCM U2100:00 Initial Configuration Not Complete: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates the vehicle identification is not programmed. TCM U2101:00 Control Module Configuration Incompatible: No Sub Type Information This DTC indicates a vehicle options data error. - J1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Retrieve all CMDTCs from the TCM.
Are diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0702, P0882, P0883, P0884, P1397 and/or P068A present in the TCM?
Yes RESOLVE those diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) first. REFER to the DTC Chart. No GO to J2 - J2 PROGRAM THE TCM (TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE) WITH THE LATEST CALIBRATION
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear all diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the TCM.
- To clear DTC P160A, use the diagnostic scan tool to carry out a KAM reset on the TCM (if available, depending on the vehicle).
- Reprogram the TCM with the latest calibration. REFER to: Module Programming .
- Carry out the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the TCM self-test.
Did the DTC return?
Yes INSTALL a new TCM. REFER to: Transmission Control Module (TCM) . CARRY OUT the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download . No The fault is not present at this time. It may have been caused by a module programming error.
