Pinpoint Test KA: Turbocharger System
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.
NOTE:
Refer to the OEM WIRING DIAGRAMS
for schematic and connector information.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
| DTC | Description | Fault Trigger Condition |
|---|---|---|
| PCM P0234:00 | Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Overboost Condition: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the indicated boost pressure is greater than the desired boost pressure by greater than a calibrated threshold. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center. |
| PCM P0299:00 | Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Underboost Condition: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the control effort to maintain the desired boost pressure is 10% greater than the calibrated threshold. Check tubing for obstructions, cracks and incorrect fitting connections. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center. |
| PCM P2263:00 | Turbocharger/Supercharger "A" Boost System Performance: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the indicated boost pressure is less than the calibrated value by greater than a calibrated threshold. If any EGR system Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present with this DTC, it may be an indication of a restricted exhaust pressure sensor or tube. |
| PCM P226C:00 | Turbocharger Boost Control "A" Slow Response: No Sub Type Information | Sets when the PCM detects the difference between the actual MAP value and the desired MAP value is greater than a calibrated threshold when the monitor runs. A concern is indicated if the MAP value does not change by a calibrated value in a calibrated amount of time during the completion of the monitor. The presence of this DTC may indicate that the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center. |
