Timing Chain Tensioner: Removal

NOTE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
RH and LH timing chain tensioners
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to: Engine Front Cover .
RH timing chain tensioner
NOTE: The following step only cover removal of the RH timing chain for servicing the RH cylinder head or cylinder head gasket. - Remove the bolts, the RH primary timing chain tensioner and tensioner arm.
LH timing chain tensioner
- Remove the bolts, the LH primary timing chain tensioner and tensioner arm.
