Rocker Arm LH: Removal

NOTE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.
All rocker arms
- Remove the LH valve cover. Refer to: Valve Cover LH .
Intake rocker arms

NOTE: Only rotate the engine in a clockwise direction.
Using the crankshaft pulley bolt, rotate the engine clockwise until the cylinder No. 6 intake valve is closed.
- Remove the bolts and the LH intake rocker arm shaft assembly.
Exhaust rocker arms

NOTE: Only rotate the engine in a clockwise direction.
Using the crankshaft pulley bolt, rotate the engine clockwise until the cylinder No. 6 exhaust valve is closed.
- Remove the bolts and the LH exhaust rocker arm shaft assembly.
All rocker arms

NOTE: The sleeves are captured on the bolts.
Using a hammer, tap the bolts to release the sleeve out of the rocker arm shaft.
- Remove the rocker arm shaft plates.
- Slide the rocker arms off the shaft.
