Oil Cooler: Installation

  1. Install the engine oil cooler and the retainer.

    Torque: 43 lb.ft (58 Nm)

    • Connect the coolant hoses.

    • Remove the hose locking pliers Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers

  2. NOTE: Lubricate the oil filter gasket with clean engine oil.

    Install a new oil filter.

    Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

    Torque:

    Stage 1: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    Stage 2: 180 °

  3. Fill the engine with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

    Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

  4. Inspect and adjust the coolant level in the degas bottle. Refer to: Specifications .

    Material: Motorcraft ® Orange Concentrated Antifreeze/Coolant / VC-3-B (WSS-M97B44-D)

    Material: Motorcraft ® Orange Prediluted Antifreeze/Coolant / VC-3DIL-B (WSS-M97B44-D2)
