Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Temperature Sensor: Removal

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Temperature Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1
- Disconnect the electrical connector and detach the retainer.

NOTE: Lubricate the EGRT sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal of the EGRT sensorNOTE: Before installing the EGRT sensor apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the EGRT sensor
Remove the EGRT sensor.

Material
: Motorcraft® High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant / XL-2
Torque
: 32 lb.ft (44 Nm)
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Temperature Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2

- Disconnect the EGR temperature sensor electrical connector.
- Detach the retainer.

NOTE: Use 19 mm open end wrench to provide counter torque on EGRT sensor boss to avoid EGR tube damage.NOTE: Lubricate the EGRT sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal of the EGRT sensorNOTE: Before installing the EGRT sensor apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the EGRT sensor
Remove the EGRT sensor.
