Pinpoint Test X: Exhaust Pressure Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.
NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagrams for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P0470:00 Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the exhaust pressure sensor is not within the PCM predicted range, based on other PCM inputs. Make sure the exhaust pressure sensor reading is similar to other PCM pressure inputs. If the exhaust pressure reading differs greatly from other engine pressure readings, check the exhaust pressure sensor circuitry for correct operation.
PCM P0471:00 Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the exhaust pressure sensor signal is not within a calibrated value. The exhaust pressure sensor reading should be greater than the BARO sensor reading by a calibrated threshold while the engine is running. Make sure the exhaust pressure sensor is installed correctly and the exhaust pressure tube is not restricted.
PCM P0474:00 Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Intermittent/Erratic: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the input signal to the PCM from the exhaust pressure sensor becomes intermittent or erratic. Check the harness for intermittent concerns, incorrect connections, routing, alterations and damage due to contact with other components.
PCM U0691:00 Lost Communication With Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A": No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects no signal from the exhaust pressure sensor.
