Pinpoint Test WA: Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION Temperature (EGRT) Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.
NOTE: Refer to the appropriate Wiring Diagrams for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to the DTC Fault Trigger Conditions.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P040B:00 EGR Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the EGRT bank 1, sensor 2 temperature is less than or greater than a calibrated limit for a specified amount of time. When the change in theEGRT12 is less than or greater than a calibrated threshold, an increment counter advances for that drive cycle.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the message center.
PCM P040C:00 EGR Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the EGRT bank 1, sensor 2 temperature is less than a calibrated limit for a specified amount of time (when the EGRT12 sensor signal voltage is less than 0.1 volt for greater than 3 seconds). When the EGRT12 is less than a calibrated threshold, an increment counter advances for that drive cycle.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center.
PCM P041B:00 EGR Temperature Sensor "B" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the EGRT bank 1, sensor 1 temperature is less than or greater than a calibrated limit for a specified amount of time. When the change in the EGRT11 is less than or greater than a calibrated threshold, an increment counter advances for that drive cycle.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the message center.
PCM P041C:00 EGR Temperature Sensor "B" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the EGRT bank 1, sensor 2 temperature is greater than a calibrated limit for a specified amount of time. When the change in the EGRT12 is less than or greater than a calibrated threshold, an increment counter advances for that drive cycle.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the message center.
PCM P041D:00 EGR Temperature Sensor "B" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the EGRT bank 1, sensor 2 temperature is less than a calibrated limit for a specified amount of time. When the EGRT12 is greater than a calibrated threshold, an increment counter advances for that drive cycle.
The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the message center.
