Pinpoint Test RI: REDUCTANT Temperature Sensor

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Regeneration may occur during normal operation. During regeneration, diagnostic procedures may display biased values. If a regeneration occurs during diagnostic procedures, allow the process to complete before continuing diagnostics.

Refer to Wiring Diagrams ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 3.0L DIESEL for schematic and connector information.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
PCM P205B:00 Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the reductant tank temperature difference compared to the reductant quality sensor temperature is greater than 40 deg.C (72 deg.F). The PCM completes a plausibility check on the reductant temperature sensor after a 6 hour cold soak by comparing the reductant tank temperature and reductant quality sensor temperature on startup. Diagnose and repair all circuit DTCs before diagnosing DTC P205B. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center.
PCM P205C:00 Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit Low: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the reductant temperature sensor voltage is greater than or less than a calibrated limit for a calibrated amount of time. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPCmessage center.
PCM P205D:00 Reductant Tank Temperature Sensor "A" Circuit High: No Sub Type Information Sets when the PCM detects the reductant temperature sensor voltage is greater than or less than a calibrated limit for a calibrated amount of time. The presence of this DTC may indicate the vehicle is operating in derate mode and may experience a loss of power. After repair, the vehicle may still display a system warning message. Drive the vehicle until the system warning message has cleared from the IPC message center.
