Port Injection Fuel Rail: Removal

- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .

- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the quick release couplings. Follow the directions for the quick release coupling type 1. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Release the valve from the bracket, then remove the valve assembly.
- Disconnect the quick release couplings. Follow the directions for the quick release coupling type 1. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

NOTE: Make note of the high-pressure fuel pump supply Oetiker® clamp end location for correct installation.
Disconnect the quick release couplings. Follow the directions for the quick release coupling type 2. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Remove the left and the right fuel rail insulators.
- Disconnect the fuel injector wiring harness main electrical connectors and the fuel sensor electrical connector.

- Use compressed air and remove any dirt or foreign material from the cylinder head, block and general surrounding area of the fuel rail and injectors.
- Remove the fuel rail bolts, then remove the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
- Remove the fuel injector clips, then remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.
- Remove and discard all of the fuel injector O-ring seals.
