Thermostat Housing - Vehicles With: Dual Generators: Removal

NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .

NOTE: Cover the accessory drive belts to prevent coolant contamination of the belts.
Completely cover the accessory drive belts with waterproof plastic.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hoses.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Follow the directions to disconnect quick release coupling type 3. Disconnect the coolant tubes. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling
.
- Remove the bolts and the thermostat housing.
Torque
: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
- Inspect the thermostat housing gaskets and replace if necessary.

- Remove the heater outlet tube.
- Inspect the O-ring seal and replace if necessary.
