Block Heater: Removal

All Vehicles
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding

4X2 Vehicles
- If equipped, remove the bolts and the skid plate.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- If equipped, remove the fasteners and the underbody shield.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
- If equipped, remove the fasteners and the underbody shield.
Torque
: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- If equipped, remove the bolts and the skid plate.
Torque
: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
4X4 Vehicles
- Remove the generator. Refer to: Generator - 5.0L 32V Ti-VCT

All Vehicles

NOTE: Make sure the block heater wiring is routed and secured away from rotating or hot components.
Disconnect the block heater electrical connector.
- Remove the block heater.
Torque
: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
