Valve Cover LH: Installation

NOTE: Installation of a new seal is only required if damaged seal was removed.
Using the special tools, install a new spark plug tube seal(s). Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 303-1247 VCT Spark Plug Tube Seal Remover and Installer.

Using the special tools, install a new seal(s). Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 205-142 (T80T-4000-J) Installer, Differential Bearing Cone.
- Install a new gasket.

NOTE: If the valve cover is not installed and the fasteners tightened within 5 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned.
Apply an 12 mm (0.47 in) drop of silicone gasket and sealant to the engine front cover-to-cylinder head joints.
Material
: Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)
- Install the valve cover and tighten the bolts.
Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

- Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors.
- Attach the wiring harness retainers.
- Install the LH ignition coils. Refer to: Ignition Coil-On-Plug .
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil.

- Install the oil level indicator tube.
- Install the nuts.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Install the oil level indicator.
- Follow directions to connect the quick release coupling type 3. Install the crankcase vent tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling
.
- Install the following items:
- Air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
