Engine Mount RH: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  3. Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  4. Remove the following items:

    1. Air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
    2. Air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .

  5. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

  6. NOTE: If equipped.

    Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

    Remove the bolts and the skid plate.

  8. Remove the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
    1. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connectors.
    2. Detach the wiring harness retainer.

  9. Remove the bolts and position the A/C compressor aside.

    1. Detach the coolant tube retainer.
    2. Remove the nut and position the coolant tube and bracket aside.

  10. Disconnect the coolant hose quick release couplings.

  11. Remove the nut and position the coolant tubes aside.

  12. Remove the following items:

    1. Refer to: Starter Motor .
    2. If equipped. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .

  13. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts, stud bolts or damage to the engine mount can occur.

    Remove and discard the RH engine mount nuts.

    • Remove the engine mount studs.

    • Remove the exhaust Y-pipe dual catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe bolts and separate.

    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

  14. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

    Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

  15. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the LH engine mount through bolt.

    • Remove and discard the stabilizer bar bracket nuts.

    • Allow the stabilizer bar to swing downward.

    1. Position an adjustable stand and wood block under transmission bellhousing. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle StandsUse the General Equipment: Wooden Block
    2. Raise the adjustable stand 63.5 mm (2.5 in).

  16. Remove and discard the RH engine mount bracket-to-engine bolts.

    1. Remove the RH engine mount and bracket as an assembly.
    2. Clean the engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block and engine mount-to-frame mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
