Camshaft and Carrier Assembly: Removal

Right hand (RH) camshaft and carrier assembly 

  1. Remove the RH timing chain. Refer to: Timing Chain .
    • Loosen the fasteners and remove the oil tube.

    • Loosen the fasteners and remove the oil tube.

  3. Remove the bolts and the camshaft cap.

  4. Remove the bolts and the camshaft and carrier assembly.

  5. Remove and discard the gasket.

    Left hand (LH) camshaft and carrier assembly 

  6. Remove the LH timing chain. Refer to: Timing Chain .
  7. If equipped with dual generators, remove the LH valve cover. Refer to: Valve Cover LH - Vehicles With: Dual Generators .
    • Loosen the fasteners and remove the oil tube.

    • Loosen the fasteners and remove the oil tube.

  9. Remove the bolts and the camshaft and carrier assembly.

  10. Remove and discard the gasket.
