Camshaft RH: Installation

1. Lubricate the camshafts with clean engine oil.
2. Install the intake and exhaust camshafts in the neutral position. Align the D-slots as shown in the illustration.

NOTE: Do not tighten at this time.

Install the camshaft bearing caps and the bolts.

Install the front camshaft bearing mega cap and the bolts.

Tighten the bolts in sequence.
Torque:Stage 1: Bolts 1-23: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Stage 2: Bolts 1-2, 5-6, 9-23: 45 deg. Bolts 3-4, 7-8: 90 deg.

Install a new VCT system oil filter into the camshaft.

NOTE: The oil tubes will be installed during the VCT unit installation process.

Install the RH (right-hand) VCT units. Refer to: Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) Unit .
Road test the vehicle.
