Pinpoint Test G: BISG Failure

DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P0A1E:00 Starter/Generator Control Module: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the BISG reports an internal mechanical failure Possible Sources
- Defective BISG
- PCM
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- NOTE: Make sure battery voltage is greater than 12.2 volts prior to and during this pinpoint test.
- NOTE: Do not have a battery charger attached during vehicle testing.
- G1 PERFORM CLEAR DTC CODES
- Ignition ON.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform Clear codes. Without starting the engine perform a system diagnostic test. Did the P0A1E code return?
Yes Replace BISG. REFER to: Starter Generator - 3.5L V6 PowerBoost (CN) . No GO to G2 - G2 BATTERY CONDITION TEST
- REFER to: Battery Cables - 3.5L V6 PowerBoost (CN) .
Did battery pass test.
Yes GO to G3 No REFER to: Battery . - G3 VERIFY THE B+ GROUND CONNECTIONS
- Ignition ON.
Is battery voltage between 13-16V
Yes Perform wiggle test on vehicle grounds and DC/DC connection. No REFER to: Direct Current/Direct Current (DC/DC) Converter Control Module .
