Port Injection Fuel Rail: Removal

  1. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  3. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to: Intake Manifold .
  4. Disconnect the fuel rail fuel tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling . .

  5. Disconnect the fuel rail fuel tube quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling . .

  6. Disconnect the main fuel injector harness electrical connector.

  7. Remove the fuel rail bolts, then remove the fuel rail.

  8. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.

    1. Remove the fuel injector retaining clips.
    2. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.

  10. Remove and discard all of the fuel injector O-ring seals.
