Engine Mount RH: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Ford F-150. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Discard all engine mount fasteners and install new fasteners.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the RHCAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
    • Remove the bolt and position the A/C bracket aside.

    • Remove the nuts and the CAC support.

    • If equipped, remove the bolts.

    • Release the retainer and remove the transmission housing cover.

  3. NOTE: Vehicles come with an underbody shield or a skid plate.

    • If equipped, remove the pin-type retainers.

    • Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

  5. If equipped, remove the front driveshaft. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .
  6. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove and discard the LH catalytic converter flange nuts.

  7. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove and discard the RH catalytic converter flange nuts.

    • NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
      NOTE: Support the exhaust intermediate pipe prior to removing the bolts or damage to the flex pipe may occur.

      Remove the exhaust flange bolts and separate the pipe.

    • Position the catalytic converter assembly back.

  8. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

    Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

  9. Remove the following items:

    1. Remove the starter motor. Refer to: Starter Motor .
    2. Engines equipped with single generator. Remove the A/C belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
    3. Engines equipped with dual generator. Remove the secondary generator. Refer to: Generator - 3.5L EcoBoost (BM) .

  10. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connectors and wire retainer.

  11. Remove the bolts and position aside the A/C compressor.

  12. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening or tightening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the RH engine mount through bolt.

  13. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening or tightening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the LH engine mount through bolt.

  14. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening or tightening the engine mount nuts and studs or damage to the engine mount can occur.
    NOTE: The engine mount studs may come off with the nuts.

    Remove and discard the engine mount nuts. Remove the engine mount studs.

    • Remove and discard the stabilizer bar bracket nuts.

    • Allow the stabilizer bar to swing downward.

    • Position an adjustable stand under the rear of the engine. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

    • Raise the engine 63.5 mm (2.5 in).

  15. Remove the bolts and the RH engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket. Discard the bolts.

  16. Remove the RH engine mount.
