Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve: Removal

Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Disconnect the EGR transducer electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt, hoses and the EGR transducer.

1. Remove the fastener.
2. Remove the EGR inlet tube nut.

- Remove the fasteners.
- Remove the EGR valve inlet tube.
- Remove the gasket and discard.

Loosen the EGR valve bracket nut and bolts.

Disconnect the upper quick release coupling and position aside the coolant hose. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

1. Remove the EGR tube to intake manifold bolts.
2. Remove the bolts and the EGR tube.

Remove and discard the EGR tube o-ring seal and gasket.

- Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector and detach the retainer on the EGR valve bracket.
- Remove the EGR valve bracket mounting bolts.

Lift the EGR valve to gain access to disconnect the lower coolant hose on EGR valve assembly then remove EGR valve.

Remove the EGR valve mounting bolts and remove the EGR valve.
