Engine Mount RH: Removal

4x2/4x4 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
2. If equipped, remove the bolts and the transmission housing cover.

3. NOTE: Vehicles come with an underbody shield or a skid plate.

   If equipped, remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

5. Remove the front driveshaft. Refer to: Front Driveshaft .

   4x2/4x4 

6. • Remove the exhaust Y-pipe dual catalytic converter-to-exhaust intermediate pipe bolts and separate.
   • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

7. • Remove and discard the LH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
   • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

8. • Remove and discard the RH catalytic converter-to-exhaust manifold nuts.
   • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

9. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.

   Loosen the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.

10. Remove the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
11. Disconnect the A/C compressor wiring harness electrical connectors and the retainer.

12. Remove the bolts, position and support the A/C compressor aside.

13. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the RH engine mount through bolt.

14. Remove the starter. Refer to: Starter Motor .
15. NOTE: Only use hand tools when loosening the engine mount through bolts or damage to the engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket can occur.

    Remove and discard the LH engine mount through bolt.

16. NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing the engine mount nuts, studs or damage to the engine mount can occur.
    • Remove and discard the RH engine mount nuts.
    • Remove the RH engine mount studs.

17. • Remove and discard the stabilizer bar bracket nuts.
    • Allow the stabilizer bar to swing downward.

18. 1. Position an adjustable stand under the rear of the engine. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands
    2. Raise the engine 63.5 mm (2.5 in).

19. Remove the RH engine mount.

20. Remove the bolts and the RH engine mount-to-cylinder block bracket.
